Short Course in Pattern Cutting – Beginners level –
Duration 8 weeks / 2 evenings per week – 6pm to 8pm

The Short Course in Pattern Cutting is designed in order to introduce the basic aspects of pattern making.

Through the duration of the course students will be introduced by industry professionals to the fundamentals of pattern cutting and will be shown how to use pattern cutting tools effectively.
By the end of the course students will have gained a confident understanding on creating a basic bodice block as well as translating a style into a finished pattern

Learning Outcomes:
• LO1: Demonstrate an understanding of creating accurate blocks
• LO2: Demonstrate an understanding of using effectively the pattern cutting tools
• LO3: Confident understanding on taking body measurements and translating them into a finished pattern.

 


 

Short Course in Creative Pattern Cutting – Intermediate level –
Duration 8 weeks/ 1 evening per week – 6pm to 8:30pm

The Postgraduate Certificate in creative pattern cutting is designed in order to introduce to students the different methods of pattern cutting by exploring draping and contour techniques. Through the course students will have the opportunity to explore innovative silhouettes through different pattern methods

Learning Outcomes:
• LO1: Demonstrate an understanding of creating patterns by draping fabric manipulation
• LO2: Confident translating a creative draping /contour shape into finish pattern
• LO3: Confident use of pattern cutting tools

 


 

Short Course in Fashion Design and Creative Portfolio development – Intermediate level –
Duration 8 weeks/ 1 evening per week – 6pm to 8:30pm

The Short Course in fashion design and creative portfolio development is designed to introduce to students the creative process of generating ideas in order to produce a fashion collection.The course is ideal for recent graduates or professionals looking to update their portfolios and produce something new and innovative.

Learning Outcomes: 

• LO1: Demonstrate an understanding of fashion design
• LO2: Confident translating a current trend through design realization
• LO3: Demonstrate an understanding in producing a fashion folio adhering to industry expectations
